The first desiccant dehumidifier product line designed for use
with a micro-turbine power generator.
SG America's high performance E-Save desiccant dehumidifier utilizes
recovered thermal energy, for maximum efficiency. This environmentally
friendly, freon-free, technology is uniquely designed to partner
with a micro-turbine power generator or can be adapted to recover
heat from other sources to meet your specialized dehumidification
requirements. High efficiency in a simple, compactly designed unit.
E-Save, the perfect partnering of Energy, Economy and Environment.
E-Save allows for treatment of 100% outside air for superior IAQ
control.
Construction:
Compactly designed with a 2" thick, insulated, double wall
cabinet, the E-Save incorporates the Seibu Giken SSCR Ultra rotor.
The rotor is made with a ceramic matrix meeting the International
Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) standards for non-respirable
fibers. The ceramic matrix is combined with synthesized silica gel
to form the most advanced dehumidifier rotor.
Only the desiccant is in contact with the air-stream! This advanced
form of silica gel has an extremely high "affinity" for
water vapor. The synergistic form of the desiccant and ceramic matrix
allows for distinct advantages over both granular adsorbents and
impregnated desiccants.
Energy Savings:
Seibu Giken proudly incorporates an innovative new patented evaporative
cooling technology on the E-Save products. Return or exhaust air
is evaporatively cooled and passes through a cross flow heat exchange
to cool the dehumidified outside air. The cooled and dry outside
air is then supplied to the return air plenum or directly to the
space. Nature's low cost cooling solution!
Micro-turbines typically use natural gas as the fuel to generate
electricity. These power generators are an important component in
the Department of Energy's Distributive Energy Resource program
encompassing CHP for Buildings.
Utilizing
natural gas, micro-turbines can produce electricity at almost any
location for emergency power requirements, critical power needs
or as the primary power source for many buildings, and are an important
component in the Department of Energy's Distributive Energy Resource
program. E-Save desiccant dehumidifiers utilize the heat from the
micro-turbines exhaust air as the source for the reactivation energy,
producing low dew point air for humidity control. This re-use of
the thermal energy enhances the overall efficiency of the individual
units. Independently fueled, the two technologies would have a low
efficiency measured against the source of the fuel. This source
fuel efficiency could be as low as 25%. Combined, the micro-turbine
and dehumidifier operate from the same fuel. Field trials have demonstrated
the combined thermal efficiency approaching 90%.
The combination of a micro-turbine and an E-Save desiccant dehumidifier
provides an economical solution to the pretreatment of ventilation
air for buildings!
Applications:
Pre-treatment of ventilation air for buildings, office buildings,
hotels, atriums, health care facilities, theatres, and shopping
malls.
Features:
- E-Save units are available as matched units to several micro-turbines
and can be modified to accept recovered energy from other heat
sources as well.
- Meets the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC)
standards for non-respirable fibers.
- Thermal efficiency approaching 90%.
- Recycled thermal energy for high efficiency
